Two Approaches: Edible Sheet vs. Full Photo Cake
Edible printing sheet only — A food-safe printed sheet that you place on top of your own cake or a plain cake from a bakery. This is the cheapest and fastest option. Multiple sellers on Coupang and Naver Smart Store offer this service, often with next-day delivery for Seoul addresses.
Full custom photo cake — A bakery bakes the cake, prints the image, and applies it for you. More convenient, more expensive, and requires advance notice — typically 2 to 5 days depending on the bakery.
How to Order Online
Coupang — Search 포토 케이크 토퍼 or 식용 이미지 인쇄 to find sellers offering edible sheets. Many accept image uploads through KakaoTalk or email after you order. Delivery to Seoul is often next-day.
Naver Smart Store — Search the same terms. Naver tends to have more specialty sellers including shops focusing specifically on edible cake printing.
When ordering, you will typically be asked to send your image file after purchase via KakaoTalk or email. Most sellers accept JPG or PNG. Higher resolution gives better print quality — aim for at least 300 DPI if possible.
Finding a Bakery in Seoul
Custom cake bakeries (커스텀 케이크 or 포토 케이크 전문점) can print and apply images directly onto cakes they bake. These are found across Seoul, with concentrations in Hongdae, Mapo, Gangnam, and residential neighborhood areas.
Search 포토 케이크 on Naver Maps or Instagram to find bakeries near you. Instagram is particularly useful because bakeries showcase their work there and often take orders through DM.
Most bakeries require at least 2 to 3 days notice, and many will ask for your image file in advance. Contact them directly to confirm turnaround time, image requirements, and cake size options.
